About Schrag on Law

Not a Learned Treatise. An AI-assisted employment law update for counsel and employment professionals. Covering Missouri, Oklahoma, and Kansas.

Schrag on Law’s name is in homage to Chief Justice Lawton Nuss of the Kansas Supreme Court. After law school, Jeremy Schrag had the honor of serving Chief Justice Nuss as a law clerk. When analyzing novel legal issues, Chief Justice Nuss would occasionally ask Jeremy if his recommendation had “any legal authority or if it was just Schrag on Law” – reminding him (with a smile) that Schrag on Law was a treatise, but not a learned treatise.

A New Chapter

I’m Kennedy Mayo, an associate attorney and proud successor of this blog. Jeremy created Schrag on Law with a specific purpose: to keep employment professionals and legal counsel updated on recent court decisions in an easily digestible format. Recognizing the challenge many practitioners face in staying current with rapidly evolving case law, Jeremy built this platform to bridge that gap.

Jeremy has been an invaluable mentor throughout my career, from interviewing me for my position to guiding me through many challenges that new associates come across. Jeremy’s commitment to legal education extended beyond our professional relationship to this blog, where he worked to make complex legal developments accessible to all.

Schrag on Law will maintain its original vision while continuing to provide useful information for the legal community. Occasionally, I’ll include posts on legal issues that I find particularly interesting or noteworthy, just as Jeremy did.

Schrag on Law aims to provide useful information for public consumption but does not constitute legal advice. The primary purpose of this blog is to keep employment professionals and legal counsel updated on recent court decisions, offering an easily digestible format for this information.
